About my project

My project is an interactive board game and a uniquely and pleasantly design product. It suits both kids and adult. It is computer aided design and the fabrication can be made in every average fablab.

Creative Commons platform

I was looking at the Creative Commons platform for different kinds of licences. I tried the “simple license chooser” and by answering some leading questions I got several options.

Two of the given options are:
  1. To allow adaptations to be shared, but as long as others share alike and prohibit a commercial uses of my work. I offered the:
    Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International
The licensor permits others to create and distribute derivative works, but only under the same or a compatible license. The licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only.
  2. To allow adaptations to be shared and a commercial uses of my work. I offered the:
    Attribution 4.0 International
The licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, as well as make and distribute derivative works based on it. The licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, including for commercial purposes.

***All the information is given on Creative Commons website***

I chose the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International. I do believe in sharing the knowledge but wouldn’t want others to use it for commercial purposes. In addition, if my project will be an inspiration for others it will be a great honor. Compatible licence will insure a decent future development.

I imagine my project will come to life as a crowdfunding initiative. The design files and fabrication instruction will be an open-source.
In order to accomplish this vision I need to take several steps:

  • Finish all the spiral development stages
  • Produce promotional film
  • Establish a web page
  • Prepare a precise cost estimation and try to minimize costs
What if?

If someone would ask me to make 10,000 units…
This scenario is truly something to wish for and it’s a great compliment to have someone believe in my project The approach will be completely different and the manufacturer will have to be entirely industrial. whether it’s the electronic circuits, material supply or the fabrication itself .It’s a whole new world to me. There are several ways to deal with this challenge. As I have no previous background in industrial manufacturing I will turn to finance and industrial consultation. The principle decision to make is whether to be completely involved in all stages of the process or to sell my idea.
