WEEK ASSIGNMENT:

-Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project

 

The two licensing option I checked were apache and creative commons/

 

The Apache License (ASL) is a permissive free software license written by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF).[5] The Apache (/əˈpætʃi/) License requires preservation of the copyright notice and disclaimer. Like other free software licenses, the license allows the user of the software the freedom to use the software for any purpose, to distribute it, to modify it, and to distribute modified versions of the software, under the terms of the license, without concern for royalties. The ASF and its projects release the software they produce under the Apache License and many non-ASF projects are also using the ASL. However due to this type of licensing specializes in software and not so much in hardware which is primarily my final project, this doesn't work for me.

Creative Commons is a Online web page helps you share your knowledge and creativity with the world. Creative Commons develops, supports, and stewards legal and technical infrastructure that maximizes digital creativity, sharing, and innovation. Licensing a work is as simple as selecting which of the six licenses best meets your goals, and then marking your work in some way so that others know that you have chosen to release the work under the terms of that license.

The PLC was designed with the idea of replacing big expensive brands so that small business can develop new technologies and start new enterprises so i decided to do open source software and hardware meaning I plan to share my final project trough this website. For my final project I have chosen this license from the creative commons website:

 

Dissemination

In the university we have a laboratory of economy and social innovation,

The laboratory of economic and social innovation initiatives IDIT generates economic and social transformation with a high innovative component, combining the application of technologies and social integration to solve specific problems of reality.

 

Through the momentum, support and consolidation of companies, the lab seeks to solve social problems from sustainable economic structures conducive to direct distribution of the wealth produced.

 

So for the dissemination I'm creating an office where we offer technological services to small businesses where we would offer the plc as part of our solutions.

 

Now part of this lab is creating a network of experts, who help each other in creating new businesses and part of the disemination plan is offering the designs of the PLC so they can use it as part of the resources for the expert network so anyone who joins it has access to it. Some example of business which have developed thanks to this network are:

Dedicated to the design and manufacture of refrigeration, freezing and storage

Creators of the largest multi-touch screen in Latin America's for non-military use.

Thanks to this network we have an unlimited amount of potential user for this design.
