    Step2: Computer-Controlled Machining

    Computer-Controlled Machining

At first, import the dxf file to ArtCAM software, which can generate the router map.

Machine is divided into two steps: The first step is machining the square hole of the surface, select internal machine method. The second step is machining the three parts of the stool, select the external machine method.

Select the diameter of the cutter to 6mm.

    Select the thickness to 18mm.

Set the cut depth and end depth.

Save the router map to file.

Open the CNC control software Mach3, import the previous router file, set the x/y/z axis origin point position.

Click the Start green button to start machine.

    Machine the square hole.

Machine completely, with a lot of mass .

    Step3: Fabrication

    Fabrication

At first, remove the mass on the boundary edge with sandpaper. Because the diameter of cutter is 6mm, so the corner is transfer with fillet. I use the grinder machine to repair the corner.

Insert the two foot parts each other.

Add the surface to the foot parts.

    Step4: Improvement

    Improvement

Because the diameter of the cutter is 6mm, so the corner is fillet not vertical. The improvement is to drill 6mm diameter holes at the corner first. This will be better when fabrication.
