    Step1: Design an model for testing

    In order to test the horizontal and vertical dimension, the horizontal gap,the horizontal and vertical diameter, horizontal thickness.I desing an model in SolidWorks.

    The deail dimension is the following.

    From the table, the vertial dimension is accurate, the vertical diameter is about 0.1-0.2mm deviation. The horizontal dimension is about 0.3mm deviation, the horizontal diamter is also about 0.3mm deviation, the gap distance is 0.3mm.

    The assignment ask us to design and 3D print an object (small, few cm) that could not be made subtractively.

    I designed an object made of four rings,which can slide smooth in the outermost ring track.

    3D scanner I use Remake, I download and apply for an educational permission.

    I take 14photos of myself to create 3D model but I failed at last. Only one third of the brain was generated, maybe the sequence of the photos were not correct.

    I made a 3D scanner myself, with Stepper moter and mobile phone,controlled by Arduino. In this 3D scanner, Set the stepper motor into a circle is divided into 20 aliquots, each aliquot pause for 2 seconds, on the same time use the mobile to take pictures, at first, I planned all the steps were controlled by Arduino, but hardware circuit for controlling the mobile was not sucessful, so I used self-timer manual control camera, all the control are used arduino mega2560.

    The material of 3D scanner is made by plywood, cut by laser cutter.
