The assignment

This week’s assignment was to create a license for the final project, develop a plan for dissemination of the final project and to prepare a summary slide (presentation.png, 1280x1024) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, less than 1 minute, less than 10 MB) in the root directory.

 

 

Final project license

After the lecture, I investigated about the different types of Creative Commons (CC). I believe it is a great way to share work, without neglecting authorship. I also think that more and more, it is being used worldwide to license different types of work, which means people are becoming more familiar to it, and can respect each type of license.

 

To license my work I went to Creative Commons web page > share your work > choose a license. I answered 2 questions, and from that I chose the type of license I wanted.

 

I chose to protect my work with a CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. I will therefore allow my work to be copied, distributed, remixed, built upon but not commercialized.

How will I inform people about my license?

I can inform people through my website. I will create a landing page website specifically to show how people can build it.

Video

I am already working on the final project video and presentation, so due to time, I prefer to finish my product and final video instead of doing a practice one.

Dissemination plan

My project is a smart modular lamp system. my dissemination plan is to make different kits of modules :one module by itself, three module kit with one remote control up to 6 modules together. I would like to get feedback to improve, the hand gesture system and add or improve the functionalities. Once I do this, I can share my project on open platforms like open desk to share my project with other design and fabrication spaces.
