Tangik has been conceived to help people designing custom furniture by recognising a physical prototype and generating a 3D representation of it on a computer screen. Once a model is created in the real world digital files are created by Tangik for digital fabrication of the final furniture piece. The user can choose the scale, colors and materials, share a design or download a template. The prototype is made by using the voltage divider principle with different values of resistors in each different piece. The recognition is made by vertical lines and the 3D computer model is generated with a Processing app.
