Molding and Casting

For the molding and casting I wanted to do an old school ink printer.

The first thing I made was to draw something, I did a figure inspired by venician mask.

After scan my drawings, I vectorised it, clean it and removed all the detail that were too precise for the size of the tool, then export it to Rhino3D and extrude the curves.

I send my .stl files to the RolandModela machine and start molding the wax.

Then I mixed two liquids component to make an elastic rubber material that I putted in the negative mold to get the positiv form.

The results is not so good yet because the ink don't stuck in the materials, so maybe it was not dry enough when I tried it, otherwise I will try again with different proportions of chemical component.

Finally, I just needed to wait for the rubber to be really dry and to use a propper inker, and it works perfectly !

Here is the file : for the wood on the laser and for the wax on the milling machine
