Make something big
For this assignment I made a living room table, from the design process to prototype took me around 4 to 5 hours.

I always try first 3D modeling for this kind of projects because I want to be sure since the beginning about the dimensions and how assembly the piece of furniture.
After having all the parts modeled and assembled I took the vectors of each part and I placed the m in an arrangement with the plywood sheet dimensions. Exporting those vectors in a .dxf format is enough to start programming the machining process
Our CNC router has the post processing program and the controller program. The post processing program used is Vcarve, it is very intuitive and easy to use. The controller program is used to set the machine in X,Y,Z and and it sends the G code to the machine, to set the machine is just necessary to place it on the desired point using the keyboard and assigning the 0 value to the coordinates.
I chose the 6mm milling cutter because it permits cutting different materials at a very good speed and accuracy.
To secure the sheet to the router I used 4 1 1/2 inch screws, one screw per corner. To keep the pieces on their places I used an special double faced tape, I recommend to use those made to install carpets that kind of tape is very strong and will keep everything in its place.
Speed used: 1200 rpm , Feed 100 inch/min
