Bio
Welcome to my FabAcademy 2016 page. My name is Borja Lanza, I’m, 35 years old and I'm from León. I’m studying in FabLab Leon, Spain, not only because is where I was born and I live, also because it's a wonderful place with great people and makers.
For my family heritage I have been always interested in museums experiences and knowledge acquisition. How use multimedia technologies for storytelling. The mixing of audio, video, lights and user interaction for making shared sensorial experiences.
Also I love electronic music, so light and audio shows in concerts and nightclubs had taken lot of time of my life. New forms of art like videomapping, visual jocking, and other type of projections are very interesting for me.
That is why I worked several years as Multimedia Designer, Light and Video Jockey and Video Editor. I have a university degree in Multimedia Design with a Master specialization in User Interfacing and Interaction, and vocational training in Camera and Video Editing among other many courses as I love to learn new things that is also a powerful reason that is why I´m here with all these brilliant people along the world.
My Hometown
I was born and live in León and old medium city, maybe for lot of you a very small city in the Northwest of Spain. It has now around 150.000 population and was founded more than two thousand years ago my the romans searching to protect the biggest gold mine in the antiquity, The Médulas.
We have lot of story and important monuments, a romanic medieval age church with painted murals that are called the Sistine Chapel of the romanic. And a wonderful gothic cathedral with wonderful glass windows.
If these are not enough reasons for visiting us, maybe this will. In our region are the best beef steak meat of the world and we are experts in the new super food (black pudding) and goat smoked/jacked meat.
Apart these great “old” treasures, in last years Leon have attracted some interesting investments, so even our little size we are a reference cyber-security, art creation and researching. Was one of the first cities in Spain having a FabLab.
Hobbies
Apart Multimedia Design, lights and video I have other hobbies. I love science fiction in all it’s forms like movies, books, games. I´m more warie than treekie. Also I love animals and teach tricks to dogs, including my wonderful Golden Retriever.
