  • 3d-prints - "netcups", "covers/plugs" and "handle-grip"

    In this case, I have used as material ABS with our newest up2mini 3d printer from the Company Tiertime:

    For my growbox, I use a hydroponic system, using rock wool or other absorbent material (sponge, rockwool, coconut fibers) to grow plants.

    On the following collage you can see the development of the "netcups" in Fusion 360:

    I used PATTERN command and at the end the BOOLEAN SUBTRACTION:

    Preferences for the 3d prints of the Netcup and also for the covers:

    Furthermore, the places where no "netcups" are located must be covered. Also for the air-tubes i need some plugs. For this I designed a cover and a plug in fusion360, which has an ergonomic "handle" to be able to put on or remove the covers:

    Through these plugs I can lead the tubing of the pump:

    3D printing process with the Tiertime up2mini:

    Result (1 weekend of 3d-printing later):

    The "netcups" took 1,5 hours each and are printed with 65 % fill-density, normal-mode, raft and support; The "covers" printed with 65 % fill-density, fast-mode, support and took 30 min printing time:

    3d-prints - "handle-grip"

    In order to be able to open and close the growbox ergonomically, a "handle-grip" was designed in fusion360. For 3d-printing here was also used the up2mini 3d printer from Tiertime with ABS-filament:

    Result:

    The "handle-grip" took 1 hour printing time, 65% fill-desity, raft, support and fast-print-mode.

    In order to attach the hinges to the aluminum profile, some adapter has also been made with the 3d printer:
