I have been trying to implement 3D prosthetics from e-ENABLE and lately I have been working with a case with an amputated hand.
We are printing Team Unlimbited arm which transmit the movement of the elbow to actuate the palm.
I wondered if I can use composites to create a stronger forearm piece for the prosthetic.
So I will try to do this using denim and Epoxy.
Then I wrapped it with some newspapers and wrapped it with sole-tape.
I then grabbed a pair of jeans and then tore it down to make a single "jean" :D
Then I cut into longitudinal strips.
Afterward I cut those into short strips according to the diameter of the forearm circumference.
And some longitudinal strips according to the length of the forearm
Then got a bowl for mixing the Epoxy.
Then dipped the strips in the epoxy and arranged them on the arm in circumferential manner
Then in longitudinal manner
Then another circumferential.
Then waited for it for a day the I removed the arm from the bottom side where I didn't add any denim.
