This week, our assignment is design the structure of a machine, with end effector, without programming. It is a group project.

Our lab, Fablab Shenzhen, decided to make a machine that cuts swiss roll. This week, I made a structure for the Y axis.

The first version is like:

It is not very strong, so I improved the design and made a second version.

You can find my design file on the right of this page. And following are parts I cut out with laser cutter for it.

And then I assembled it with hot glue gun. After assembly, it looked like this:
