W0 | Final Project Proposal

During our daily teaching in Litchee Lab, we noticed that kids show great interest in the technology world. Cars, planes, coding, 3D printing and VR, technology seems like magic to them and they also have their original and creative ideas about how this kind of technology should be used.

Last year, we took kids to visit an OSVehicle factory, which produces open sourced car platform. They loved it and not few of them wanted to put their hands onto a vehicle project.

But sad, except trying to assemble wheels, they got no more chance to try, cause it is heavy duty and not friendly for kids(or adults without any background).

Still, with some ambitious kids, we kicked this project off anyway. We made a design, tested out easy to get materials from the hardware store in the corner, and made a prototype of the original idea.

They are great kids that take more steps. But problems arise along. How to connect wheels to the body? How can the vehicle turn?

So my final project proposal is: can we build a vehicle with common materials and equipments in a fablab? No need to be a off-road model, but possible for kids to modify and play with.
