Designing the machine
After discussion, we decided to build a laser engraver with a maximum power of 2W for the laser.MTM
While Patchi and Mathieu who are our experts in mechanical design started to think of a design for the machine, I decided with Christian to spend some time on the cardboard stages presented for the Machines That Make (another interesting page on the reconfigurable stages can be found here. On the page one can download a file CRDBRD_STAGE.dxf that can be converted in other formats using an DXF online converver.
The problem with this design is that it was two big to be cut with our Trotec laser cutter (600 mm x 300 mm).
In parallel, I assisted Andreas with the test of the laser.
In the mean time, Patxi made a real design for the machine and started producing design files for the laser cutter.
