This week's assignment was about how to manage the final project in terms of distribution and other people possibility to use, diffuse and modify it. This can be made putting it under a license
While I was browsing on the internet looking for some information about different license available, their peculiarities and things like these, I casually found something that caught my attention, the Copyleft...
I obviously knew what Copyright is, but I've never heard about something called Copyleft
As I've read, it's a kind of license that allows people to freely use, diffuse and even modify a work made by someone else provided that the outcome is released under the same license
This is placed in the middle between the Copyright, that is strongly restricted about management of other works, and public domain, wich is the most freedom kind of license for other people use of a work
Among the Copyleft license are placed the Creative Commons and the GNU General Public License
GNU General Public License is more focused on software dissemination, and since I didn't develop a software, I moved to one of the Creative Common licensing types
For my work I've chosen the Share Alike type
I think this is the best middle way that let other people to use some work, but mainly to contribute to develop it, and at the same time ensure that anyone is going to use it under the same principles of the original developer. For example nobody could make money withot the approval of the developer
For what concern my project I would like it would be appreciated for its utility and its being simply to make and reproduce, and maybe someone else implement it in any way. I don't aim to have any income from this project
