Computer-controlled cutting
◆Idea
I want to make paremetric Cube kit.To make complete cube, the distance of XYZ must be same.
but existing GiK kit cannnot connect to Z axis by itself.
I try to make extra parts. At first, with Rhinoceros.
You can see 3 yellow lines, their length are same.
◆Parametric modeling by Antimony
○ How to export 2D file from Antimony
To export 2D files, use [export] -> [heihtmap(.png)].You can export 2D Black & White png from 2D date.
When you select 3D model and make png, the shape turn out to be from top view (with shading).
You cannot export 2D & 3D shapes as png at the same time.
If you connect 2D & 3D to one [heightmap] component, 3D shape will disapper.
○ Write Scripts
I want to use math function like grasshopper, but antimony has no one.But we can write [Script] as you like, and I made +-*/ scripts.
○ Kerf Cutting
Then, I made a curve parts with kerf cutting.I try some difference parameters(horizontal lines are made by Illustrator).
◆Fabication
First, I try to use fabmodules.Import and processing is good, but finally cannot send a data to the GCC laser cutter.
I add GCC as a printer via system controll panel in OS X, but it doesn't work.
So I use Corell Draw for cutting.
Machine : GCC Laser Pro.
Material : Cardboard 0.5mm and 0.2mm thickness
(L) is for LaserCutter, (A) is for Antimony Script.

Raw data makes some tightness or loseness.
So I have to adjust parameters in Anitmony.
Curve parts burned while cutting!
So I choose a large distance and down the power(S12,P50), and cut twice.
I notice the orientation of cardboard is important.
Finally, I made this shape.
