Siron's Fab Academy 2016 Webpage

ABOUT

Hello, my name is Siron Cesar, I am from Sorocaba, Brazil and I am a 27yo I graduated in Control and Automation Engineering, from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) in 2015. At first I am a bit shy but after know the people a little more, we can have a nice conversation. However I am more listener than talkative person.

During my academic carreer I was part of AIESEC, an internation student organization. A these time I went on exchange in other countries and I received at my home a lot of foreing students on exchange in Brazil. I am not member of this organization anymore, but the cultural experiences that I lived that time, made me realize that I learned a lot from people from different cultures, so I am aways striving to have more experiences like that.

Since June 2015, I am working as a FabManager in Fab Lab FACENS. Join the FabLab network inspired me and changed my life in many ways. I had the opportunity to participate in Fab 11 back in 2015, and with it, I could see the possibilities for innovation and social impact that digital fabrication and the Fab lab network can offer. Although I am leading a Fab Lab, I still do not feel fully as a "maker" because from the beginning I am the manager of Fab Lab Facens. Join the Fab Academy will enable me be more creative, innovative and especially more "maker" manager, allowing me inspire my team, the students of the college where I work, and all Sorocaba community in their creations in the Fab Lab FACENS.

About my home city and Fab Lab

Sorocaba is a city in the interior of São Paulo state. Although almost ignored as a tourist destination, Sorocaba is a large city with strong (and growing) economy, a charming and well-preserved Downtown, practically no slums, and known as one of the most cycling-friendly cities of the country (if not the most).

Fab Lab Facens is an educational FabLab, located at the Sorocaba Engineering College (Facens - Faculdade de Engenharia de Sorocaba), in Brazil. This Fab Lab was inaugurated on June 19, 2015 but has been working already on some projects with students.

We are constantly learning, but individual skills of each person of the team meet the different demands, contributing to the growth and development of projects.

We constantly provides workshops related to digital fabrication for FACENS students.

Our open day take place every Saturday from 9am to 13pm.
