In this week I have to propose my final project that integrates the range of units covered, answering what will it do? who's done what beforehand? what materials and components will be required? where will they come from? how much will it cost? what parts and systems will be made? what processes will be used? what tasks need to be completed? what questions need to be answered? what is the schedule? how will it be evaluated?

U-FMI

1)what will it do?

I am planning to make U-FMI ie Ultimaker Filament Measurement Instrument .U-FMI is a device used to measure the length of filament used by the ultimaker during 3D-printing

3)what materials and components will be required?

1)Rotary Encoder
2)Atmega328 board
3)LCD module -LCM S01602DTR/M
4)Push button switch

4)where will they come from?

Atmega328 and LCD display is being obtained from FAB LAB itself. Rotary Encoder was purchaced from makerhive

pcb board for U-FMI, Box for placing pcb and lcd display and pinion for shaft of the rotary encoder and small case for it

9)what questions need to be answered?

The gear system which I made in my project is only able to give accurate measurement for PLA with grip ,so It is necessary to change the gear system. I think it is better to have a rubber cast over the gear .

11)how will it be evaluated?

The U-FMI is being made ,callibrated and integrated with the ultimaker.During callibration 30 cm PLA is pulled through the gap of the gear system and I got accurate reading in the U-FMI.
