Fabrication process of

Coffee Capsule Container

Venkit 1.1

First of all, I designed a independant electronic board that controls a button and a servo motor. Since I planned a modular design, I had to design the only board for one line of vending machine.
More information about venkit1.1 is here

I downloaded sofware serial for servo motor and programmed the board.
The codes below were my first trial. It suceeded to make the right movement of the motor, however, I had to keep pressing the button.

I figured it out how to make the motor move just by a one short touch of the button.

Then I worked on changing speed and time gap of the motor. This had to be done with lot of practice because it was hard to find a right timing for the machine to drop only one capsule.

Case design

This is the first sketch of the case. It is press-fit design for 3T mdf.

At first I didn't calculate the distance and the range of the motor to move.

One of the good points of this design is that it has space for all the wired and electronic board to be hidden.

Upgraded the Case

This is the final design of the case

I moved the place of servo motors and changed the doors to 3D printed ones. Also, I added 3D printed button covers for easier use and made CNC milled buttom wrek.

Upgraded Functions (Venkit 2.0)

I added more functions to the machine. I put 3 LEDs to each module so that 3 different colors of LED could indicate the status of the machine.
For example, green LED blinks when the machine is ready, red LED blinks when it's in process, and blue LED blinks after the process is finished.

These are by upgraded board design

The button+LED board is connected to the main board with wires. It's directly attached to the button part of the machine.

Again, of course, all the wires and the board is hidden in secrete space

Test and Revise

I changed the design, tested again, and fixed again. There were some failures of making the machine to drop only one capsule

Self-Evalutation

I compared my original schedule and the reality.
When I began the project, I started to keep changing my first idea.

I nearlly ignored my first plan and just did as far as I could do.
It was tough days but I learned lot of things during this short days
