Soh Hong Guan's Fab Academy Learning Journey 2017

How to make almost Anything

Lets begin to make almost Anything- the calling of this year class(which teaches the participants on the hand-on skill to be able to build almost Anything.) Nowadays after leaving school people almost stop making anything by their own. Similarly, none will ever think of designing and creating their own prototypes or repair their own electrical or electronic devices unless the need arises

Singapore Economy is at another junctual of transformation where from manufacturing dependant to creativity and innovation. The capabilities and skillsets to design and making of new products and new services have become a vital emphasis. Government new initiative to train and retrain the work-force in developing the skillset required in the this future economy had spunned off varios SkillFuture initiatives. Singapore Polytechnic being the first polytechnic is Singapore, we are right at the centre of this transformation- as to ensure what are being teach to our students stay relavant and applicable in this ever changing be a new horizone. I am glad to have embarked on Fab Academy 2017 which gives me the opportunity to relearn my skillsets and keep up to date with the technology and project management. With the acquired skillsets hopefully, I can help my School in the renewal and setting up of our very own prototyping facilities which are relevant and up to date to welcome and encourage our future students to also pickup the skillsets to embark on this journey to making almost Anything.
