Computer Aided Design
This week the assignment was to design using both 2D and 3D software. For this assignment i used Inkscape, gimp and onshape to design a rack that i could possibly use for my final project.
Using inkscape i designed the horizontal and vertical planes that should fit together. i used the top down approach by doing boolean functions.
Using Gimp software i was able to label the design files that i made from inkscape
Using onshape i began with a sketch on the top plane and then proceeded to extrude the sketch to the thickness of the material i desire to use which is 6mm in this case.
I then proceeded to the assembly mode of the onshape software that allows one to assemble and visualise how different parts fit together. here i experimented with using mates to make the parts to fit together.
