Concepts: Changing ideas!

Thinking prospectively, the best way for a final Project is to have it based on the
17 Sustainable Development Goals by the UN. Kids are the future of all the changes
that we as adults/fabbers/innovators what to generate for them to have a better quality
of life, despite all the forecasts. Kids between ages 5-6 will be our starting point,
since this is an age where they start to understand how the world works and what a
better way that to teach them through basic products or programs the correct way to
administrate the world.
Kids One at a time or KOAT is a project that has as a goal the development of 17 products or programs that face one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development World Goals. For FAB ACADEMY, I will try to develop the first of a series of products. This one will have the following characteristics:
WHAT: Development of a product that faces Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
FOR WHO: Kids between ages 5 to 6.
WHERE: Developed in a Latin America Context
HOW: Through pedagogical methodologies (research) and digital fabrication (manufacturing)
WHY: Because kids in Latin America have low conscience of environmental responsibilities, this causes a poor education in these area. This is why it is so important that kids understand and apply them in their daily life’s.
After a long research on how was recycle done in Latin America and all over the world I have stablish that the requirements for REC kids should be:
Self-Learning
Trash identification colors: GLASS (white), PAPER
(blue), PLASTIC (yellow), ORGANIC (green) and INORGANIC (gray)
Sound or Light alert
Ergonomic proportions
for kids to interact with the objects
Simple to identify by seen or touching
Easy to carry
Cost Production
< $USD 50

Struggling with the different technologies learned in the course, I was trying to identify the simplest and practical way of creating my project, the truth is that I have no idea of making this possible and I am now on Assignment 06 Electronic Design and still the ideas aren’t getting where I want them to be. I’m facing trouble on understanding what type of technology will I’ll be able to accomplish by the end of the course with a final project that actually works.
One of my main concerns is that my GOAL is Responsible production and consumption, this creates a contradiction between the capacity of the first concept I came with and my goal. So I’ll have to keep on thinking.
