In the laboratory, we have in the region of 4-5 (one often leaves to exhibitions), printers, one of which we have developed:
DFKit (digital fabrication kit).
Here are you can see it:
The 3D printer and router machine in a single form factor.
I don't really love 3D printing (FDM) technology, because it's very often used for the final versions of the devices. But sometimes, for prototyping or sm simple devices I have to print.
For printing I use Cura, Polygon 2.0 (for Picasso 3d printers) and MeshMixer.
And the next few pictures - some of my print results:
The next chapter is Scanning.
I did more than 80 images around the object, exposing each time equal to the angle and the distance to the head.
As a result - you can see the dizzy-GIF:
Further, these images must be converted to 3d model. I did it with help autodesk software package.
I've used RECAP 360 to create surfaces.
Next, I imported the model in ReMake to fix mesh and to export STL file.
In the end, I got a head model in FUSION 360!
Little bit about some difficulties. Most complicated was to ensure the same (each time shooting) distance from the lens to the scan object. But I was lucky:)
Or I have straight hands.
