Hello, everyone!
This is the last fabacademy 2017 assignment. So let's start it with respect.
In this assignment, I have:
- To complete a Final Project;
- To answer for a couple of questions.
The questions:
- what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
- what has worked? what hasn't?
- what questions need to be resolved?
- what will happen when?
- what have you learned?
Question #1
What tasks have been completed?
What tasks remain?
At the moment of writing this page my project was almost ready. Issue is the wireless transmission of information from the control stick to the Board, supply and stability of the code. But the fact that I built something to ride really motivating.
Question #2
What has worked? What hasn't?
Metal gears are very noisy and have a large backlash. I think the system needs to be redesigned on the belt drive. It's not complicated. This will increase the efficiency and lower the noise. Also to my surprise braking system works. I thought that induction of braking (inside ECS) would not be so effective.
Question #3
What questions need to be resolved?
Design is very important. How to design the device to look good, have high functionality and be technological? Also one of the most important issues is the prediction of the result. I thought the maximum speed with a rider of a weight of 80kg would be 40-45km/h. In fact, I (75kg) achieved only 35. On one hand, through increasing the voltage I can increase the speed. On the other hand, it will reduce the range of the drive and safety.
Question #4
What will happen when?
Honestly, I don't quite understand the question. If the main idea is in the future of the project, my answer is simple. I want to finish it for commercialization condition, so that it can be promoted on a crowdfunding platform, grants and exhibitions. Still, some elements need to be redone (see above).
Question #5
What have I learned?
Ho-Ho-Ho. This is a very serious question that will not be a simple answer. But I will try to be honest.
I'm the kind of person that always aims for the best and sometimes don't achieve the result. I'm a procrastinator-perfectionist. Therefore, placing getting the maximum knowledge of digital production and neighboring areas as the main goal I often made excessive demands on myself. I can't call myself "a beginner". And if the definition of professionalism is money, I am.
I was an absolute zero in web-developing, in Altium Designer, which is considered to be the coolest electronics engineering package. I've never documented activities in so much detail. I've never dealt with composites. The list can be long. Every week I tried to take the maximum for myself. It didn't work sometimes, but the development of my skills is really huge.
By the way, a subproduct of the "on English" documentation and of communication is the growth of my knowledge of the language. Seriously, six months ago, I didn't speak. After visiting the FAB-12 in Shenzhen something has turned around. I found an environment where I'm comfortable talking, where English is beginning to be studied itself. It is amazing!
Conclusion
Is this end?
No. It's definitely not the end. This is the beginning of cooler projects. The FabAcademy has shown me the possibilities, taught me how to communicate and gave technologies into my hands. All ahead.
