Eddie Villanuva

About

I am an artist living and working in Providence RI. Throughout my career my medium of focus has been painting. However, since 2014 I have started to incorporate new media and technology into my art making practice. When I was little, I used to take apart old stereos, turntables, speakers, computers, and basically anything else that had some kind of electronic component. Sometimes I would conduct experiments by dropping paperclips onto live circuit boards. More than a handful of times, I blew the lights out in the whole house. My curiosity persists, so it is with great enthusiasm that I find myself participating in the 2017 FAB Academy. I anticipate that the topics covered in the program and the skillsets we learn will completely revolutionize the material possibilities of my art making.
