NETWORKING AND COMMUNICATIONS

INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT

1. BLUETOOTH

The first thing to know is that there are two types of Bluetooth modules. Master and Slave. The master works as an emitter and can connect to many slaves. The slave functions as receiver and only connects to one master.

There are two types of modules HC-06 and HC-05. The HC-05 can be configured as master or slave (6 pins). The HC-06 only as a slave (4 pins).

I will connect two Bluetooth modules. One will function as master (emitter) and another as slave (receiver). In this image you see that the Arduino Uno pins are connected to the Bluetooth module.

2. CONECTING THE BLUETOOTH TO THE ARDUINO

Following the above scheme we connected the Arduino Uno to the Bluetooth module HC-06.

The difference between the modules is the number of pins. HC-05 usually have two extra pins (in addition to TX, RX, VCC, GND) labeled "Key" and "State"

In the Arduino we will use 5v / GND / Pin 2 / pin 4.

In the module HC-06 we will use the 04 pins.

3. PROGRAMMING THE BLUETOOTH

This is the programming using pins 2 and 4 of the Arduino Uno

When I wanted to upload the program did not work. So check the configuration again. The board should be in Arduino Uno WiFi.

The port should be the one that recognizes the Arduino Uno

With these settings the program went up without problem.

The speed I use is 9600, I had no problems in programming the Bluetooth with this. Commands are typed on the Arduino Serial Monitor.

4. SERIAL : SETTING UP THE MASTER

To send any command we will write AT + command. For example AT + PSWD? Tell us the key to connect by bluetooth.

AT + UART? Will tell us the speed at which the Bluetooth is configured.

If we want to configure a new order we must include = and the value. For example AT + ROLE = 1 means that we will configure this Bluetooth as Master.

With the question AT + ROLE? We can check the configuration mode.

AT + CMODE = 1 allows to connect the module to any available address.

If we ask AT + CMODE? Tell us that the configuration mode is 1

AT + VERSION? Give us the version number of the module

5. SERIAL : SETTING UP THE SLAVE

To configure the other module as slave, the following must be set: AT + ROLE = 0

AT + NAME = SLAVEVANE is the command to place a name on our bluetooth device. So by linking it we can recognize by the name which is our device.

Same as in the master configuration, to know the slave key we typed AT + PSWD?

You can change the password by placing AT + PSWD = 1212

To choose the slave role, place AT + ROLE = 0

Once the Bluetooth modules are configured, we configure the LCD screen from Arduino to receive a message "Bluetooth working"

We connected the HC-05 (Bluetooth) to the Fabduino. The Fabduino connects to the LCD screen and by the FTDI to the computer.

When receiving the Bluetooth signal the message arrives to the LCD "Bluetooth working"
