Building the Concept through sketches
Extending the concept of bits and atoms; in particular how the bits power the atoms and their behavior is my pursuit here. The idea is to design and fabricate a lighting fixture for residential use that will sync with the real-time phases of the moon of the location. Later, the device will be synced by a different dynamic data source, like Stock Prices of a company or the flight times of the local airport.
Taking it to Illustrator
I used Adobe Illustrator to flesh out the look and visual feel of the product. I envision it to be a soft/ profused lighting installation inside a living room that hangs on to the wall like a painting. Alternatively it can be sold as a tall-standing floor lamp. That will ease the way electric connections flow to the main circuit of the device.
I love 'Surface Development'- how sheets fold and become volumes and shapes- like in Origami. I want to experiment with Tyvek and want to create a wallet that can be developed by just folding the sheet around. I will try to see how I can print over the surface of Tyvek so that the wallet can be used as an artifact.
