Week 20: Project Development
Introduction:
My plan is to develop a smart furniture design that can be developed at fablab.
The furniture senses the person and automates light accordingly. This week we need to
complete the final project and track the progress on where we are.
The week has been hectic for me both with last minute rush and trying to find time
in between to do the completetion works. A great week of learning for me. Don't keep
things for last moment.
What is the deadline? How much time do I have left?
For the project completion we have two week’s time left and I have even less effective
time since some urgent matters turned up. I plan to complete
the programming of the electronics board and to do the rest of the
pending works such as documenting the project, making of presentation slide
and video etc.

What task have to be completed What tasks remain?
I have completed the mechanical and electronic production of the project.
What I need to do is the programming part and then few things like making of the led stand frame.
Also, I need to document, create the project presentation slide and presentation video.
How will I complete the remaining tasks in time?
Since, I could not spend much time in the lab these two weeks, time management
plays an important role right now. If I could schedule what ever time
I have and plan accordingly I can complete the remaining task in time. To complete
the task I'm going to follow the below rules:
1.Setting daily goals and timelines. Keeping a check on it. If something is
not working, move on to next and once that's over come back and debugg. Usually, if I
take time debugging something, then I stuck on to it, which is not a right option
right now.
2.Do personal research efficiently without losting track of time. If debugging doesn't
work out after many trails, seek peer help.
3.Try not to keep documentation for last minute. Document on the go, you never
know what happens at the last moment
What has worked? What hasnt?
Setting up timelines and daily goals works out well without any trouble. Even I could
reduce amount of time I wasted on the name sake of personal research. But documentation is the place where
I really lagged that I had to rush at the end to push to the archive. Great lesson learnt.
Don't keep it for the last moment.
What questions still need to be resolved?
I could complete doing the project prototyping so, I'm happy about it.
As of now there is nothing much to be resolved. But, I would like to upgrade my
project add more features to it and make it more efficient.
Learnings
Never keep anything for the last moment, especially documentation. It's better
to make a plan and initial draft for creating effective video too. Getting stressed
and rushing out only makes it worse. De stress and go-on one at a time. That would
have helped.
