1. This week assignment is to build a press construction kit. I learned from watching the website from my assessor, Aristarco Cortés.
2. One finding is that you can experiment with cheaper materials in order to assure fitting.
3. The first thing I researched is our machine´s kerf size (The machine is a CAM Five CMA 1200). The total kerf of the twleve cuts is 1.5 mm, so 1.5 / 12 = 0.125 mm per cut. This means that for every joint there will be 0.25 mm of vaporized material.
4. For this week, I designed a presentation box for my final project. I am pretty sure it will change because I still don´t know the final measures of the drone. Nonetheless, it was very interesting for me to use the laser cut for my first time.
5. Problem: The first time I used the machine, I forgot to contemplate the space left from the laser.
6. When I started using AutoCAD to make my pieces, it seemed very easy to mirror some of them, the result: those pieces just replicate themselves.
7. What I realized is that I have managed to improve my skills in modeling and designing, but, I need to spend more time with the machines.
