Week 2
or "problem solving 1.3D"
I need a thing.. yeah there.. hmm.. How it should look like?... Hmmm yeahhhhh well

Whenever I have the chance, I try to make something myself or with a little help of someone. In case I need help, there are some people where it is more than enough to describe it with words and hands, but more often (and often better) it is the case where it is better to make a drawing. Drawing by hand, ok, 2D programs, ok, but 3D, boy what a challenge! And yes, how cool would it be, to print it straight in 3D!
Time to get started!
- Defining my problem of our packing station
- Creating several drafts in various 2D programs of my "thing"
- Facing my fear of 3D programs
- Creating the bracket properly in a 3D program and render it
- Getting it printed and let the gift wrap rolls hang
Step by step - hanging brackets for gift wrap paper
Step 1 - the problem
I'm a huge fan of organising things and optimizing hands-on processes. That's why I want to hang the gift wrap paper underneath the shelf of your packing table so it is easy and quick to excess.

Step 2 - a clear vision of how it should look like
Ok, again I cheated a bit :D I went to the hardware store first, to see if there was anything like the item I needed on the market. Yes, and no, I found something. It is a good inspiration of how it should look like, BUT it is not fitting to my measurements.

So, but haha, not to make it too simple, at the end cap there should be a cat mounted so I can hang my scissors onto the tail, never searching for them on the table again.

Step 2 - making a draft
A simple technical drawing from the front and from the side, drawn in illustrator

Step 3 - facing my fear of 3D modelling
I'm excited but also terified of working with a 3D program. So here is my current stage of my bracket in 123Design
