Heeelloo it's me, Sophy

Coming from a fashion design background I barely have any experience in programming. I participate in the course because I'm highly interested in learning new skills outside of my comfort zone.
Through my Master studies in Textile Futures at CSM, London, I discovered my obsession working with a lasercutter to create unique objects.
This brought me into my job, working in the FabLab at RWTH University, Aachen as a creative consultant since 2012.

I would like to include the weekly tasks into my shop renovation, furnishings and equipment. It would be great to solve problems or inspire new product designs with my newly earned skills.

I simply love..

  • manipulating materials and surfaces
  • exploring and pushing material to its limits
  • my lasercutter called "Sir lase-o-lot"
  • taking pictures of everyday objects

My little lasercut company, Laserkatze

Together with my brother, we started mid of 2015 our own little lasercut company in Aachen, Germany. We are designing and manufactering small series of design objects in our little shop.

We own a lasercutter called "Sir Lase-o-lot" and various smaller machines like the vinyl cutter "Cameo" of Silhouette of America. Our goal is to create objects that are desired, fascinating and highly individual.
