A_Use Vynil cutting tool
I designed a sticker logo for the art space. As the original one is on a vertical basis I extracted each letters from the original and placed it on a horizontal document and added "art space". I did few options and kept the version on 2 lines.
I did a version with a thin line (0,057) around the letters and another with thick (1.5 pt) line.

The idea with the thick line is to get a vynil with only the contour of the line, leaving the interior empty.
Sending the file to cut.
After setting up the Roland vynil cutter with my material in place:
-Copy the whole image in Inkscape and paste it in the roland application window.
-place the image in the bottom left corner, adjust the image (in the Roland interface)

The result was not successful as the size was too small to have the machine makes a contour - in other words the size of the line was too small to have the machine cut on both sides. The nozzle/blade moved the vynil as it did the job.

I could have increase the size of the canvas, making the letter bigger but I wanted the width to be maximum 16cm.
So I repeated the inskape operation with the images with the thin line and send the job to cut.

It did a good job cutting but when it came to do the transfer I realized the blade was either not deep enough or not sharp so it had not gone through it all the way. Making difficult to proceed with the different transfer steps.

The mistakes created an interesting result as it made the logo more original and actually very much in the spirit I want to give to the project.Open, playful, free and unbounded creativity.

I relfected on the "mistake/error factor in a creative process. I consider it as fundamental dimension which largely contribute to new findings, and often surprising results. I am curious to explore this idea - error, errorism, errorist - make representation of it, and even embed it into the very object and/or the technology and interactive experience.
Already feeling uncomfortable from the start with the "art space thing, I changed the logo to "open error space" and vynil cutted it.

B_Group exercise
I did the group exercise in margin of the group. I am already familiar to the laser cutting workflow since i used a lot the Trotec at Valldaura.
I assisted the Fablab Barcelona instructor's breifing on the Epilog and was hoping to get a run through with the Multicam since it has a large bed which I am interested to use for my project but it was not functionning and so the session was postponed.
I have no formal documentation of the group exercise as there were many people around the machines but I did a kerf test file . with Grasshopper (from scratch).
