Goals

Assignment

develop a plan for dissemination of your final project prepare a summary slide (presentation.png, 1280x1024) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, ~minute, ~10 MB) in your root directory

Slide

Made using Inkscape and Gimp

Video

Made video in OpenShot free open source video editor, shot with a Iphone 7 and transparent overlays made in Inkscape

License

I concidered different Creative commons licenses and other open source licenses in week1. Here is a good comparison between CC and MIT license. After reading up on them I liked the MIT license best and wanted to go with that one. So I made and linked this license file.

However since I have built on work done by others I need to respect their licenses:

For simplicies sake I would like to use the same license for this whole page. But depending on how the two conflicts are resolved I would then have to go for the NonCommercial verison of the CC.

My solution For now I will go for a CC BY SA 4.0 license and write a disclamer on the pages where I use the Satshakit and Satstep6600 files.

Hopefully I can get the satshakit team to remove/clarify the non-commercial requirement. If so I will upload my work to fellesverkstedet/fabricatable-machines, look for it there if you need a more free license.

Follow the license discussion on the repositories here Satshakit license issue and here Satstep6600 license issue

Plan for dissemination

Workshops

Since my final project is a portable CNC machine, I want to traver around and demo it while holding CAD CAM workshops.

UPDATE: I got an early start on this vision since I already during the presentation weeks of this years fab academy visited two labs in Iceland with my machine. Vestmanejar and Isafjordur. In both labs I held small CAD, CAM and milling workshops. I am talking to a newly started school in SkellefteƄ Northen Sweden about going there this autumn.

Fab Academy instructor 2018

I hope to be a instructor for Fab Academy 2018 in Oslo at Fellesverkstedet where we intend to have the students mainly use our own fabricated machines to take fab academy.

UPDATE: I have talked to the managers at Fellesverkstedet and they are positive to the idea. My next task here is to write a budget for it.

More and better fabricateable machines

I want to keep developing my machine and coming generations of fabricateable machines.

UPDATE: I have been made a team member of the github repository and will copy the instructions for how to make HECTOR (my cnc machine) to there. I will continune to track my lessons learned and further developments there so that they are easy to find.
