WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?

Attending the Fab Academy has been an amazing experience. It has expanded my horizon on different ideas and how to approach things differently and opened up many doors and possibilities. It reminded me that learning can be fun and exiting. Before I entered the Fab Academy I had a little experience in 2D drawing and little to nothing in programming. The rest was a blank page. For my final project I made a guitar with integral electronic systems, therefore I´ve learned a lot in 2D- and 3D designing and on top of that, guitar-making. This project has been a big impact on guitar building in our Fab Lab and in Iceland. It comes to show that anyone can make almost anything in Fab Lab. I now have a good basic understanding of web design which has sparkled some interest and I´ve also learned a lot about electronic systems during this course.   Before Fab Lab I had no idea I would be able to make my own circuit boards within a day. It just shows how every weekly assignment is necessary and teaches a lot.  This experience has given me basic understanding of how electronics works and especially how to do develop circuit boards, which has become a little hobby of mine. Having the opportunity to take the Fab Academy in my hometown is a true privilege. I would recommend this for everyone to take the Fab Academy. Especially for those who have special interest in digital fabrication.
