Design and fabricate a 3D mold

To this experiment I started mechanizing a MDF mold in Shopbot starting with a bold ½ in bit and finishing with ¼ in as you can see in next images. For milling the MDF mold you can see the Computer Controlled Machine week.

Fiber Composite

Firts I tried with a metalic fiber and Instamold. I mixed water and Instamold in a 2 to 1 relationship.

Mixed water and Instamol until the composite is similar to yogurt. I put one laye of InstaMold, the metalic fiber and other layer of InstaMold. The result was terrible. I think that the mistake was because the metal fiber is separated

I tried with other fiber composite. At this time I use PVC fiber and Silicone Rubber Compound OOMOO.

Similar as before, I put a layer of Silicone Rubber Compound OOMOO, the PVC fiber and other layer of Silicone Rubber Compound OOMOO.

Around 3 hours after the fiber composite is ready.
