Advance Mobile-Bathroom (Taking shower with Plants)


Introduction


When I was discussing with my batch-mates regarding fab final project we have discussed various ideas to implement different things. I was looking for a ground breaking Idea which can can be easily implemented at Vigyan Ashram and can be used. After the first discussion in send discussion I've decided to list down the real world issues at hills of Vigyan Ashram. The one significant issue I Dr. Yogesh sir focused upon the plants are not able to survive during the hot summers of Maharashtra. The trees carries lot of advantages and hence I've decided to find some solution on the same problem.


Problem Statement


It is very hard for plants to survive during summer (45 degrees temp) on the hills of Vigyan Ashram as water is scarce during summer and therefore watering them becomes difficult. There are 70 students on campus and if we take bath under/with the trees then trees can get watered easily.


Solution


I want to design and construct a "Mobile-Bathrooms", which will be primarily use for bathing and the water coming out from the activities like bathing redirected towards the plats. By using these mobile-bathrooms which are in the form of assembled structure near the plants and the water utilized by the bathroom activities can be supplied directly to the plants. It is also an eco-friendly innovation.


Mobile bathroom gives opportunity to take shower with plants as well as it is eco-friendly. The bathroom is specially designed for rural areas where constructing new bathroom is quite expensive. This mobile bathroom is very compact and portable. mobile bathroom is made up of water resistant plywood and plastic curtains with all facilities includes,

  • Objective


    In the area of Vigyan Ashram we don't have that much water supply in summer because its hill area and summers are very hot.

    There we have planted many trees, and its very difficult for them to survive without water.

    So my project will give the solution for survival of the plants


    Methodology


    Description


    Looking for a mobile bathroom is like looking for water in a desert. That need is just important at all times. A total life saver. Hence, everything has their advantages and disadvantages, and so does the portable mobile bathrooms depending on the type and model you use.

    This model is assemble structure with portable and easily movable model, you can move wherever you want and take bath.

    This will allow you to maintain a pleasant and hygienic atmosphere for both your staff and guests.

    Portable mobile bathrooms are just convenient to hire, when you are busy making some other stuff and unable to supply water to the plants. It just a call away.


    Need of project


    In india at most of places you won't get enough place to bath, so they usually bath in open spaces and water will flows on roads, and it's going totally waste.

    I want to design & construct a "Mobile-Bathroom", which will be primarily useful for redirecting water during activities like bathing. By using these mobile-bathrooms which are in the form of assembled structure near the plantation areas the water will flows directly to plants and will be usefull for plants.

    Material


    Marine plywood(water proof)

    it is manufactured from durable face and core veneers, with few defects so it performs longer in both humid and wet conditions and resists delaminating and fungal attack. Its construction is such that it can be used in environments where it is exposed to moisture for long periods. More recently, tropical producers have become dominant in the marine plywood market. Standard for marine plywood, even though the wood is not very resistant to rot and decay. Each wood veneer will be from tropical hardwoods, have negligible core gap, limiting the chance of trapping water in the plywood and hence providing a solid and stable glue bond. It uses an exterior Water and Boil Proof (WBP) glue similar to most exterior plywoods.

    Marine plywood is frequently used in the construction of docks and boats. It is much more expensive than standard plywood: the cost for a typical 4-foot by 8-foot 1/2-inch thick board is roughly 1200 INR or around 40 INR per square foot, which is two to three times as expensive as standard plywood, depending on grade.

    Curtain

    it's a piece of cloth intended to block or obscure light, or drafts, or water in the case of a shower curtain. A curtain is also the movable screen or drape in a theater that separates the stage from the auditorium or that serves as a backdrop.

    In physics, the shower-curtain effect is the phenomenon in which a shower curtain gets blown inward with a running shower. The problem of the cause of this effect has been featured in Scientific American magazine, with several theories given to explain the phenomenon but no definite conclusion. As a second meaning, the fact that nearby phase front distortions of an optical wave are more severe than remote distortions of the same amplitude is called shower-curtain effect.

    A shower is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm or hot water. Indoors, there is a drain in the floor. Most showers have temperature, spray pressure and adjustable showerhead nozzle settings.

    The simplest showers have a swivelling nozzle aiming down on the user, while more complex showers have a showerhead connected to a hose that has a mounting bracket. This allows the showerer to spray the water at different parts of their body. A shower can be installed in a small shower stall or bathtub with a plastic shower curtain or door.


    Working


    Whenever you want to bath, takes the bathroom kit with water bucket its weight also so any common person can carry it easily, weight is very low.

    Then set it near tree(plants) assemble the model, and the curtains which will covers you from all the four sides, then just start the motor for shower which is already set in bucket.

    With the help of water level sensor and those LEDs will indicate how much water ramained in your bucket, so you can enjoy bath comfortably without worry of finishing the water.

    The bathroom floor is not perfect 90 degrees, its little bit slope from one side, so water exits from that side only.

    And the water used for bathing is directly serve to plant, every plant is gets 18-20 liters of water on every bath.

    2D Designs and rough sketchs


    Design 1




    In first design I thought that i will only use Plywood structure, which can be a foldable structure.

    But it seems very heavy, so I thought I started thinking about another design.

    start is very easy to access and it is with curtains and support things are made by ply

    But in this design I feel stability can be an issue.

    3rd design also little bit similar, but stability is little bit more than 2nd design.



    So started making the design and calculations of this design and started working on it.

    Firstly I made scale down version according to laser cutter size and cut all the parts and stick them together with chloroform.


    But currently I made only the scale down model with acrylic sheets, 3D printed bucket and shower and sensor using the Modela.

    Mechnical assebly


    First choose the top and bottom plates in small groves just stick the support part 01 from both side.

    Then take the support part 02 and try to stick with upper plate in big groves.

    Choose the support rods and try to fix it two centre in one and fix with nuts and bolts.

    Now just choose the bottom plate and fix it with nuts and bolts, now just connect the top part from remaining two joints.

    Input output devices


    Water level sensor is input device and LED's are output, which will shows you how much water reamins in your bucket while the bathing.


    Water conducts electricity, these particles must be free to move it is true that in water (H2O) the discrete molecules are free to move, however, they carry no charge.


    The only reason water can sometimes conduct electricity is because of the minerals (metallic solids) already present in the water.


    I'm using n-mosfet as a gate, one vcc(5v) connection is kept in water, whenever the another sensor point connects with water, n-mosfet turns ON and LEDs will start blinking
