Week 7 bis: Students I am proud of

Mathieu Moog is a M2 physics student (last year undergraduate). He helped us to start our FabLab two years ago, and had a strong commitment to the students' association. Today, he is working on molecular dynamics simulations (as I did in the past). He is computing free energy surfaces to study kinetics of chemical reactions.

Since our first 3D printer setup, I pushed him to produce 3D objects to illustrate his science. After some mitigated trials with molecules, he produced this 3D model of a free energy surface, with the help of Andreas Féron. This a very nice pedagogical object.

The vertical scale is 1 eV.cm-1. The toolchain consist in : some simulation code (Quantum Expresso) → Meshlab → 123D Make → CorelDraw → laser cutter.

I am proud of my students !
