i would intend that people could use this idea and create their own adaptation to best suit their environment and need. i am a beleiver in local production, and meeting needs hyper-locally and transferring information internationally, trans-locally. i am looking to be a conduit of solutions, and not looking to create an income stream from this, but rather support those who grow food or plants at home in an urban environment.

i am choosing a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike copyleft license for the intellectual property that comprises my project. i look forward to dissemeniation through local urban agriculture networks (e-newsletters, magazines, etc.) that are focused in urban areas, as well as in digital spaces and social media groups dedicated to urban growing. i beleive that by empowering each other in small ways can lead to huge shifts in the cuture and stewardship of the world.

Share-alike is a copyright licensing term, originally used by the Creative Commons project, to describe works or licences that require copies or adaptations of the work to be released under the same or similar licence as the original. copyleft licences are free content or free software licences with a share-alike condition.

two currently-supported Creative Commons licences have the ShareAlike condition: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (a copyleft free content licence) and Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (a proprietary licence). the term has also been used outside copyright law to refer to a similar plan for patent licensing.

since this project is one in the drop of the bucket of d-i-y projects meant for hyperlocal making, adapting, and use; i am choosing to create it the materials to be freely used. there is definitely a wide range of ways to address property and information dissemination. i think this comes closest to a post-capitalist paradigm, which may become necessary in certain contexts.
