About

Here is a picture of my wife and I in Edinburgh, Scotland in the summer of 2015.

My name is David C. Taylor and I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. This is my 10th year teaching and my second at Charlotte Latin School. I graduated from Slippery Rock University as a double major in education. I earned my M.Ed in Middle School Science at UNCC. I am a Ph.D. student at Texas Tech University with a major in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in STEM Education. I have created STEM curriculum for classrooms, camps, webinars and more. I am strong believer in hands-on, project-based learning that supports student development. I like science, technology, history, sports, traveling and spending time with my friends and family, especially with my wonderful wife, Bri.

My goal for this course is for my content knowledge to grow as well as develop new skill sets. As a educator without a formal engineering background, I am always trying to push my learning and knowledge of different fields, content and more to support my students development and growth. This course will provide me the opportunity to push myself to a new level. I am looking forward to learning through doing, trying new things, problem solving, failing and succeeding.
