The Opendot Team decided to develop a machine that could move sand using small magnets and create something like the Tic-Tac-Toe game usable remotely controlled.

The concept is that a metallic ball (or square) can draw into sand (or similar material) moved by a magnet. My work was to make a structure to assemble the motorized x-y axis made by Pablo and the board grid of Joan, while Emanuele has to elaborate the remoted controlled software.
From the first sketches (Fig. 1 and 2) I thought a flexible structure to better fit the individual parts: four rod to hold up the grid plate and a cover to close the machine. You can see the drawing below (Fig. 3, 4 and 5) and download the file.
