Applications and Implications

Assignment :

Propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered.

My Proposal :

●What will it do?

My project is a jewelery box (not a safety box)with a luck activated by fingerprint or passcode in a mobile application via bluetooth to keep the valuables from loss.

●The scope of a project

Are you having hard time finding your jewelries and valuables ? No more missing Jewellery’s from now on .. with the Smart Jewellery’s Box (SJB) your staff are safe from your sister, husband, house made, friend, kids or any other person and protected by complex or simple passcode that nobody know it except you and it is activated through your bluetooth connection to your smart phone or tablet.

●Who has done what beforehand?

I have seen safety boxes like the ones available in hotels which are activated by direct number code or a key but fingerprint and/or blutooth activated are rear. Also the available boxes are very heavy or fixed into the closet while mine is easy to move so that the user can curry it and move it to wherever she/he need it.

●What materials and components will be required?

Wooden sheet to cut out my final press fit designed jewelery box.
Board copper sheet
Bluetooth module
Attiny45 and electrical components
Servo
Acrylic sheet for partitions
Vinyl paper for stickers

●Where will they come from?

Most of the items required are either available in our lab inventory or Locally available or ordered from outside Kuwait.

●How much will it cost?

The jewelery box approximately cost 40 USD.
* Note : defiantly it will cost less if it will be produced in mass quantities with automated production.

●What parts and systems will be made?

The jewelry box itself will be CNC cut out of wood.
Laser cut acrylic for the internal partitions.
Stickers on the wagon would be by using Vinyl
Electronic Boards

●What processes will be used?

CNC for the box
Laser cutting for the partitions
Cirquid for milling my micro-controller board.
-Soldering iron
DC Motor ,Ultrasonic Sensor and Controller board.
Vinyl cutter for printing the logo.

●What tasks need to be completed?

Designing the jewelery parts to cut it using CNC, design, milling and soldering the electric microcontroller board and program it then design and cut the acrylic partitions and vinyl cutter to print the logo.

●What questions need to be answered?

How the CNC cut wood will fit with each other ?
How the luck mechanism will work

●What is the schedule?

1- Design and cut the CNC wood 2 Days (6/06/2017)
2- Design , mill and solder Electronics boards 2 Days (8/06/2017)
3- Assembly & Programming and vinyl cutting 2 Days (10/06/2017)
4- Error fixes and finlysing 2 Day max (13/06/2017)

●How will it be evaluated?

I hope it will be evaluated considering the all the effort I put in learning designing and applying the knowledge gained in the Fablab with all the trial and error and repeating I went through to reach this point and I am prying to god that my project will succeed and work as it should.
