Applications and Implications

What will it do?

A camera slider controlled over bluetooth, Easy to build and assemble in any Fablab.

Who's done what beforehand?

Adafruit's bluetooth motorized camera slider
Greatscott's motorized camera slider
Arduslide: Arduino Camera Slider

What materials and components will be required?

  • 3D printed frame and carriage
  • Laser cut GT2 belt gear
  • 2x 8mm hard chrome rods 400mm length
  • 4x LM8UU linear Bearing
  • 608 bearing
  • Nema17 Stepper Motor
  • 4x 3mm screws
  • 8mm screw and nut
  • camera mount screw
  • Main Pcb
  • hc-05 or hc-06 bluetooth module
  • Where will they come from?

Most of the mechanical parts can be bought from any local hardware store and the electonics are in fablab inventory.

    How much will it cost?

about 1000LE which currently equals about 50USD

What parts and systems will be made?

  • The chassis will be made out of 3d printed parts
  • The carriage will be made out of 3d printed part
  • The GT2 belt gear will be made out of laser cutted acrylic
  • Main board The Output Devices Board
  • Mobile app to control the slider
  • What processes will be used?

  • 2D and 3d CAD to design the chassais parts and the carriage
  • Laser Cutting
  • 3D printing
  • Eagle to design the PCB
  • Electroics production "PCB making"
  • Android App making "Interfacing"
  • What tasks need to be completed?

None, i finnished all the tasks. Maybe it need further development.

What questions need to be answered?

  • How can i run the stepper more smooth?!
  • How can it be better?!
  • What Features should be implemented?!
  • What is the schedule?

I already finished the hardware part and i have to work moreon the software part till the end of the academy.

    Wow will it be evaluated?

It will be evaluated upon the variety of the used modules from the Fab Academy, it's manufacturability, being easy to assemble and its functionality.

Where possible, you should make rather than buy the parts of your project

All the parts except the bluetooth module.
