Invention, Intellectual Property, and Income

The first idea of my project was to create a machine that would put the sound in relation with a real physical form.
Then the idea has been extended and my desire was to create a musical instrument where the user could, through the position of the hands, control the sound by changing a responsive surface.

My intention has always been to share my project online, opensourse, in this way SoundShape could be part in other research between form and sound
It would be nice if it was also used by musicians, so I can understand what are the pros and cons of the user experience.

This work may be reproduced, modified, distributed, performed, and displayed for any purpose, but must acknowledge "project name". Copyright is retained and must be preserved. The work is provided as is; no warranty is provided, and users accept all liability.

It has never been a project with a practical use, but simply a form of experimentation with no goals for profit. I haven't thought of a strategy to generate income. The idea of incomes does not have sense in this work, because the project does not have a real purpose or a utility.
There are millions of musical instruments, born to be and then what would not be a market in which to fit.

To share my work i decided to do that under a [creative common] license.
I checked the different kind of licenses available to choose the right one for my work.
The first question that i had to answer was: "Allow adaptations of your work to be shared?"

If "Yes", the licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, as well as make and distribute derivative works based on it.

if "No", the licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, but not distribute derivative works based on it.

if "Yes, as long as others share alike", The licensor permits others to create and distribute derivative works, but only under the same or a compatible license.

The second question was "Allow commercial uses of your work?"
If "Yes", the licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, including for commercial purposes.

If "No", the licensor permits others to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only.

To release my work as open as possible, i choose to permit other copies of my work, and to allow the commercial use of my work.
