For this week we were as a group supoced to design a machin using premade moduels we were suplyed link here. The machine we decided to create is what we call a Mandala Machine. It uses one of the the stages and then a rotating turningplate to create mandalas, whrite or make lines in sand to create a Zen garden like patters.
I began to design a base for the turnlpate and to mount the motor but through the design phases of the group the base i made was not used but the turn plate i made was.
Due to the size we needed 65cm the plate to be it was designed in 3 pices to fit the lasercutter wich only takes 30x60 cm stock i cut the plate up then created a saw style connection for a larger surface to glue it togeather. the plate was designed in Fuzion 360 then it was turned in to a drawing then exported as a PDF for Inkscape where i added the saw style connections.
The material used for the machine was a thick cardbard stock that i sourced from work and then some plexi pices to connect the plate to the gaears to the motor and hold the pen that draws. the plate was glued togeather with hotglue and pressed togeather then some wood glue was put in the seams of then the surface sanded to make it as level and smothe as possible
