The Idea

Actually there is a lot of robot projects, since the venerable Asimo, through Robonaut, Atlas Robot and Darpa Robots, to the hobby and home market like Jibo, Buddy and Qbo, all they are great design by they own. 

Mi idea is make a platform for experimentation, learn and fun which can de done by any in a FabLab, not only the software used will be open source, but the physical design too, so anyone can have their own personal companion robot.

The final model could like this, the core of the projects is the eletronics and mechanical constructions with a very basic programming. However because the robot will have a Raspberry or Intel NUC brain will be powerfull enough (and compatible) with tons of powerfull open source software for experimentation like ubuntu, ROS, OpenCV, LISP, Festival (text to speech).
