My goal for this week was use the technique of molding and casting to reproduce my own cylindrical prints, to apply them in artistic supports. I wanted to test the characteristics of the silicone, as a seal for its flexible characteristics.
Failures & Successes: The first mold in silicone did not work as a seal, because the depth of the mold was too deep to be able to adapt them to the cylinder. Make a second mold of a thickness of 2mm in the end of the design so that it could bend but not deform it. But if I managed to complete the entire process, routing the counter mold and mold without any difficulty.

Vectors + Rhinoceros:
For this assigment use several 2D and 3D modeling programs, for the 2D modeling, use the program Vectors, the intention was the reporducción of a cylindrical seal, of pre-Columbian indigenous origin. When being cylindrical the pattern must conincide in beginning and end of the mold so that when gluing it in the cylinder they coincide. So I made a module, which I repeated in both directions.
For 3D modeling, use in Rinoceros program. After extruding the 2D figure, I generated a box by the proportions indicated, and safety measures so that the bit could pass through all the angles in depth
Once the file is exported to .stl from the Rhinoceros, we will open a new model in Artcam, in this new model we will interact the measurements of the material and we will give it ok. The next step will be to import 3D model, the file will open and we will click on the center option, and then paste, so that the model and the delimited area match.
The next step will be to go to the menu, toolphat and choose the option Z LEVEL ROUGHING, at that moment of deploying a series of options that we will be setting. Among them is the choice of the drill. We will open this submenu and differentiate the size of the bit, in this case 3.16mm and the depth of descent of this 2mm.
Then we will choose the material, and we will indicate the depth of this material. In this case 35mm and we will put the material z zero in the top.
Once all the steps are completed, we can visualize the cut path, and we will give you to save a new toolpath, thus saving the file as .nc
We fix the wax to the support of the millie machine, so that there are no movements in the cut, and we start the cutting process. For them place the drill bit of 6.13 mm in the machine. And we fix the z-point, with the control of the machine. We store it in H0, and open the folder where the archibo is located, seal1. We select it and give it to start the process.
