propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered, answering: what will it do? who's done what beforehand? what materials and components will be required? where will they come from? how much will it cost? what parts and systems will be made? what processes will be used? what tasks need to be completed? what questions need to be answered? what is the schedule? how will it be evaluated? what will it do?: it will cast hollow objects thanks to the rotation of the silicon rubber mold and the liquid polyester resin and android application will control the speed of the motor with 3 diferent preset speeds who's done what beforehand?: there is a rotational molding machine from the 2015 fabacademy made by saverio silli i like the circular design but the frame was small for the things that we want to cast in the fablab so i decided to make my own version. you can review the saverio silli web page clicking here what materials and components will be required?: this machine will need: 3D printed pair of pinions laser cuted metal gears, laser cuted metal axle holders a bicycle chain 2 metal frames 5 axels dc motor electronic board for the control electronic board to drive the motor a bluetooth module mdf structure elastic bands silicon rubber mold 6 casted bearing holders 6 bearing holders m5 nuts and bolts 24v dc power supply electric switch wires  where will they come from?: most of the material will come from the fablab puebla, other material will be bought and the other will be recycled from other projects all the maked parts will be made with materials from the fablab like: 3D printed pair of pinions laser cut metal gears, laser cut metal axle holders electronic board for the control electronic board to drive the motor mdf structure silicon ruber mold 6 casted bearing holder silicon ruber mold the recycled parts will be: dc motor 24v dc power supply electric switch wires bluetooth module bicycle chain the bought parts will be: 2 metal frames 5 axels elastic bands 6 bearing M5 nuts and bots how much will it cost?
what parts and systems will be made? 3D printed pair of pinions laser cut metal gears, laser cut metal axle holders electronic board for the control electronic board to drive the motor mdf structure silicon ruber mold 6 casted bearing holders silicon ruber mold 2 metal frames 5 axels what processes will be used? laser cutting molding and casting 3d printing welding lathe turning drilling soldering painting micro controller programing app programing 3d designing 2D designing what tasks need to be completed? i need to do the assembly of the project and do test i need to program the app ans testr the comunication with the microcontroller what questions need to be answered? the questions that i need to answer are: what is the perfect resin mix to do the rotational molding? what is the exact time to let the resin cure? what is the optimal rotation speed to do the rotational molding? what is the schedule? assembly all the mechanism part do the mechanical test using just the motor and the power supply do the electronic boards and test them test the communication with the blue-tooth terminal app program the app test the control with the app how will it be evaluated? it will be evaluated with the objectives achieved the working prototype must: - turn the mold in a constant motion - cast a hollow object - have controlled speed - have a practical way to place molds with different sizes in it - be controlled by an android smart phone and an app if it achieves all the objectives i will be satisfied with my project
