WEEK 6

DESIGNING ELECTRONICS

This week was hard. We had to redraw HELLO ECHO BOARD in KiCAD or other PCB editor.
MORE ABOUT THIS WEEKS ASSIGNMENT
We started off with learning kiCad from online tutorials at CONTEXTUAL ELECTRONICS.COM

KICAD LAYOUT

Kicad works on multiple files all organised into one folder with a main conrol panel window showing all of them.

IMPORTNIG THE LIBRARY

To have acess to the electronic component layouts from our inventory I had to import the element library. You can get it HERE

On the image below you can see that one of the traces didn't calculate well. There was not enough room for the milling bit to make a trace.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Overall deisgnig electronics is not that terribly hard. The most difficult is to find the right layout for all the components to be able to run traces. It is important to choose right pins and components. It takes a long time to search through component drawers but after a while you can get used to it.
