FabLab Kitakagaya is founded at "Kitakagaya” located in the south of Osaka city in April 2013.
Our lab is in a shared office "Coop Kitakagaya” which was founded at refurbishing the site of a woodworking office.
Currently, people from various professions are gathering in the lab. Engineers, designers, artists, office workers, carpenters, drivers, housewives, students, teachers, researchers and so on.
People with various backgrounds meets in the lab and make (almost) anything from co-creative activities.
Play to the full with digital fabrication machines! It’s as like as children gather spontaneously and develop(update) a paling freely on a open field.
This is the vision that we aims for.
I think if the citizens (users) get a basic knowledge about a property of some products or materials and techniques for handling them.
It will lead to more effective resource usage.
So I want to make the space and the content that citizens can study them.
I’m interested in visualize data with maps , and helping people’s communication with it.
I think Maps are effective interface to recognize complex data that people should face recently.
Also I‘m interested in self-sufficient life with technology. So I’m trying to grow plants with sensors, make DIY bio tools, and so on.
I'm researching on material cycles (resource circulation) and design for sustainability.
My interest is how we can use resources in a sustainable manner by learning from nature and ancient wisdom.
My current research interests include:
System developing of handing down knowledges and techniques through the internet
Building and installing a sustainable organization structure for co-creation activities
Actualizing methods and influence of artwork publishing in a public space
