In this week, I 3d scanned and 3d printed my upper body and head with 3D scanner"Sense"
And I made and 3d printed “voronoi pattern” 3d model with autodesk Meshmixer.
I scanned my upper body and head with 3d scanner “Sense”.Sense is a handheld and low cost ($399) 3d scanner.
I used this scanner for the first time. I think this is very easy tool of 3d scanning because we need only prepare the scanner and PC installed the software of it.
The 3D file I scanned can be saved as stl or obj file.
3d scanned model often needs reduce meshes and fill holes for 3d printing.
I used the software Meshlab to repair the model.
Meshmixer also can repair Meshes. But I think MeshLab is more easy to use than Meshmixer.
I tried to make a voronoi pattern with Autodesk Meshmixer.
Since less polygons result in larger openings in your final model, I reduced a number of meshe to 600.
I printed the models with 3D printer “Solidoodle4” at Fablab kyushu univ. I used PLA filament. It took about 2 hours to 3d print each of them.
